"I'M NOT A RAPPER, I JUST TALK ART"
—Spike Nu
Washington, D.C.-born and Oxon Hill, MD-raised artist Spike Nu is here to shake up the rap scene with a fresh style and view. A filmmaker-turned-artist, Nu hits the ground running by blending the pocket of D.C.’s own Go-Go music with old-school hip-hop and smooth R&B textures. His intricate cadence and narrative songwriting style create an immediate bond with his audience, delivering music built for grown people who want more out of life. Nu’s musical roots run deep, starting at age 13 when he grew a love for music.
That passion evolved over the years as he later served as a church keyboardist and music director—an experience that empowered Nu to explore more of the music world. He expressed his expanded and eclectic creative freedom into a rapid-fire discography, dropping "Terminal B Gate 29" and "The Layover" in 2022. Driven by a mission to positively influence his fans, Nu returns to the spotlight with his latest album, "An Expensive Parting Gift," dropping Saturday, August 8.
